Keeping You Posted

With work being done in the weapons department, skills piling up in the skill list work on classes sits just around the corner. With that in mind, I wanted to let our more intensive fans know that there would be some progress in this lair soon. In fact, we have even started writing brief descriptions of the classes and linking those pages to the class 'glossary' if you will.

There are many different professions for a player to choose from, but not all will be made available in the first release. It should be noted however that many professions are going to be developed in such a way that they alter gameplay so much that it will feel like playing an entirely different game. This is being done for many reasons. Inclusivity being the greatest of those.

Finally, we want to take a moment to remind everyone that there is plenty of room for others to contribute. Classes and Trades are extensive lists of skill packages that will have bonuses, restrictions and in-game features that set each classification apart from the other. For example, the assassin class will have a feature where the player can see awareness meters above NPC and other player heads. This will allow them greater stealth than other professions. However, that feature will not be available to any other class or trade. They will have access to stealth movements such as 'hide in shadows', 'flatten against wall' and 'crouch behind object', damage bonuses for attacking unaware opponents, and their mission boards will be inside their allusive guilds only. Higher leveled assassins might receive direct service requests from members of the court and be permitted to interact with objects that other players do not have access to.

This approach not only differentiates each profession but also promises to entertain players with hours of robust game-play in Epimetheus. One of our goals is to provide a platform where players of any motivation can play harmoniously alongside each other. Not everyone is interested in a civic simulator nor is everyone interested in stealth games. Therefore creating a game that incorporates all of the successful mechanics and themes into one inclusive platform should prove to draw millions of fans from around the globe. In essence, we are aiming toward providing a game that allows the content to be provided by the players making for some interesting server evolution and player-affected game developments.
