Arcaneri are the bane of magi. They are trained to detect, avoid and disarm magic devices, spells and incantations. They wear magical talismans that wards most low level spells. This enables them to target marks with magical abilities. A highly sought after skillset in Aborlon.

The Arcaneri were created during the War of the Magi. When Oglisha Starbender faced the Arcane Heraldry he knew he was outmatched. Even a Magician of his stature was far from powerful enough to face the Seven Magi of the Heraldry. But he knew cunning could out wit their combined might. So Oglisha went into hiding for seven years.

In that time he trained a relatively unknown brotherhood of Assassins, the Culver's. He taught them the secrets of magic detection, how to disrupt incantations and gave them talismans of magic warding. Then he promised them wealth untold to execute the hierarchy of the Seven.

Today the Arcaneri have become one of the wealthiest Assassin's Guilds in the lands. As a result of that wealth and success they have become arrogant and unimaginative. For many legra now, other guilds have taken and successfully completed assassinations on Magicians and Sorcerers alike.
