Since nearly the dawn of time, mankind and monster alike have battled for dominance, both abroad and among each other. The Fighter class embodies a loose group of warriors who have evolved from the harsh, gritty lessons of trial and error among the brave at heart, yet meek of wealth. Where footwork, training, education or mentor-ship shape the form and practices of all other classes Fighters learn in the heat of battle, through blood and sweat.
Sometimes, fighters are nothing more than an angry person with a stick, but more often than not you will find they can pick up any weapon and use it readily enough to deliver their vengeance. What they lack in defensive gear they more than make-up for in fervor.
There are four variants to the class of Fighter: Barbarians, Beserkers, Polemen and Axemen. They have evolved naturally as a result of the evolution of both weaponry and warfare. Fighters are fierce warriors who are resistant to fear and prefer to be on the offensive.
Barbarians were one of the very first specializations to emerge out of the Fighter Profession. Wielding nearly any weapon as readily as a Man-at-Arms and coupled with both a high constitution and unflinching attack, Barbarians have roamed the continent of Aborlon for centuries. While they may be willing to fight for wealth, their true passion is to defeat worthy opponents in open combat.
Berserkers are a ferocious line of specialized Fighters that throw caution to the wind with reckless abandon. The zeal with which they assail their foes dissolves many warriors' will to fight and has been known to turn the tide of battle from dire to victorious. Unfortunately, their approach does make them susceptible to seasoned soldiers who are trained in defensive style combat, as a berserker must rely entirely on their armor for protection.

Polemen are an unusual form of Fighter as they wield only two-handed weapons. Like all fighters they prefer the offensive but also know many defensive parries and avoidance techniques. Interestingly enough they manage all of this in either medium or heavy armor.
Lastly, Axemen make up the final specialized fighter profession. They are the only member of their class to use shields and exclusively use axes. They are a reliable addition to any army and have proven highly effective against armored enemies. Axemen also have a greater knowledge of mounted warfare.
