Magician
The study of magic is one of great patience and scholarly research. Magicians and Sorcerers are commonly confused as both wield magic with enormous potential. However, members of either faction would never allow such an oversight to go vehemently unrenounced. In fact, the two magic-wielding groups are often mortal enemies due to their inherent differences and misconceptions of one another.

However, their ability to shape magic comes at a dear cost. The use of magic requires a taxing amount of the caster's life force. Not only do great spells leave a magician vulnerable and weak, but they also shorten their lifespan. This drawback alone has deterred many would-be mages from studying the arcane arts. A Magician without any sort of an escort or bodyguard is unlikely to survive any drawn-out battles they find themselves in.
It is a long, arduous journey to the rank of an Archmage. To become an Apprentice one first needs a letter of recommendation from an existing Mage of the High Order. Obtaining one usually requires some task, or a set of tasks, to be accomplished to aide in the recommending Magician's studies. Once accepted into a Magician's Institution, the student begins to chip away at years of study in an attempt to move up in rank.
The Lower Orders are where aspiring Magicians research the fundamentals of magic. They learn about the nine different realms or planes of existence, calling power from those planes, minimizing the taxation on their bodies and the preparations needed to accomplish various low-level spells. During this foundational period of study, they will commonly familiarize themselves with the various specialties of magic as well.To successfully complete the Mid Order Trial a Magician must choose a specialized study. There are eight areas of focused study, Alteration, Time Manipulation, Life Source, Conjuration, Enchanting, Illusionism, Necromancy, and Astral Concurrence, Enchantment is considered a trade due to its production-based spell choices and is therefore not listed among the classes. A Magician of any specialty can cast any spell, but spells of their chosen specialty have far greater potency. Conjuration is often considered the choice of adventurers as their ability to call forth fireballs, lightning and familiars is especially useful.
